Areas of expertise

Gemma has been working at Snedden Hall & Gallop since 2014 (apart from a short stint with another law firm).

Working mainly with the litigation lawyers and Family Law team, Gemma assists with all aspects of legal work, but particularly by assisting in hearing preparation and undertaking legal research. She also provides training and support to the paralegals within the firm.

As a winner of the Snedden Hall & Gallop Scholarship in 2012, Gemma benefited from financial support in her first three years of university and worked at the firm as a paralegal.

Gemma graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at ANU in 2019, having previously completed her Bachelor of Development Studies, and was admitted as a lawyer on 4 June 2020.

In her spare time, Gemma loves playing piano and cooking dinner for her friends.

Haydn Marsh helped my son in his family breakdown matter – we were so lucky to engage him. He was professional, knowledgable and committed to achieving the best outcome for us. He is also sympathetic, kind and has just the right touch of humour, which my son and I greatly appreciated during this stressful time. For most of this matter, we have been in the overseas, so a lot of emails, phone calls and video conferences have been required, all handled brilliantly with help from Gemma Butler, who is also excellent.
