Snedden Hall & Gallop, the oldest independent law firm in Canberra, has awarded its prestigious University Scholarship to two Year 12 students annually since 1999.

We are pleased to announce that the scholarship has returned for 2015!

The scholarship rewards exceptional students who intend to study law at ANU or UC.  In addition to financial support, winners receive the opportunity for work experience at Snedden Hall & Gallop and are regularly hired as paid paralegals, working casually during university.  Many past winners have continued with the firm as lawyers after graduating.

Every college is asked to nominate one Year 12 student for the scholarship.  Nominees do not need to study legal studies (many winners in the past have not) but should have outstanding academic results and a desire to study law at university.

Winners are selected following a 6 minute speech and a 10 minute interview. To remain eligible to receive the scholarship winners must commence, and continue, studying law at either ANU or UC (but may choose to delay payment in order to take a gap year).

In 2015, we are proud to again be supported by our friends at the University of Canberra.

Full details of the event will be released shortly, but for interested students it is vital that you speak with your College now for further details.

Colleges will need to nominate their candidate by Tuesday, 1 September 2015, with the scholarship speeches taking place on Wednesday, 30 September 2015 and student interviews on Friday, 2 October 2015.
