If you are right around the corner from purchasing your first home, Snedden Hall & Gallop wants to help you. Purchasing your first property can be daunting, especially when you are trying to factor in how much stamp duty (now known as Conveyance duty) is payable on your new home.

Are you aware of the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) that is available in both NSW and ACT?

This grant can offer you some financial relief in what can be a stressful time.

For our NSW buyers, as a first home buyer you may be eligible for a full or partial exemption from stamp duty under the First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme. You may also be eligible for a $10,000 grant under the FHOG (new home).

In the ACT, from 1 July 2019, the FHOG will be replaced by a new Home Buyer Concession Scheme. The ACT Government will abolish stamp duty for eligible first home buyers of new and established homes.  Income thresholds will apply.
